Flying in a Different Direction

The Viking sunstone was a navigational tool used by Norse sailors to determine the position of the sun, even when it was hidden behind clouds or fog.
For me, the Storm-Forged Pipe serves a similar purpose. It does not provide answers, but helps me navigate an ever-changing spiritual landscape while forging a path of my own.
My journey began many years ago through teachings shared by elders who taught respect for the Earth, the natural world, Spirit, and the Sacred Pipe. Over time those experiences led me toward the nature-based spiritual traditions of my own ancestral heritage, particularly the old pathways of Northern Europe.
What surprised me was not the differences between these traditions, but the similarities.
Again and again I encountered familiar truths expressed through different stories, symbols, languages, and ways of understanding the world. Rather than focusing on labels, I found myself paying attention to relationships: relationships with Spirit, the land, ancestors, the natural world, and the mysteries that surround us.
Today I walk a path influenced by both the traditions of Northern Europe and the lessons that emerged from this land and its peoples. Although my ancestral roots lie elsewhere, this is the land beneath my feet, and these are the forests, rivers, mountains, and spirits that teach me now.
This website is a record of that continuing journey – a place where old paths are remembered, new paths are explored, and understanding is forged through experience rather than certainty.
